John Arbon Devonia DK
John Arbon Devonia DK
Devonia DK is a beautiful blend of Exmoor Blueface, Bluefaced Leicester and Lustre breeds. The Exmoor Blueface is a local sheep for John Arbon Textiles, with a wonderful springy nature. The Bluefaced Leicester lends an outstandingly soft handle and lustre to the yarn, while the lustre breeds (a combo of Wensleydale and Romney) add their qualities of beautiful golden sheen and fine drape.
When put together these fibres add up to a wonderfully drapey lustrous blend, with just a dash of woolly bounce.
NEW IN STOCK: We’ve got a very limited amount of Brewed by the Mill Folk special colourways - Beetle’s Wing, Wild Damson and Willowherb. These shades have all been dreamt up by the fabulous folk who work at John Arbon Textiles - in this case, the father and daughter team of Phil and Daisy. Phil works in downstairs production at the Mill, gilling up fibre tops, wrangling fibre stocks and looking after deliveries. Daisy heads up the finishing production, keeping folks on track with their coning and plying and skeining.
Each 100g skein contains approximately 233m composed of 50 percent Exmoor Blueface, 30 percent West Country Bluefaced Leicester, and 20 percent West Country Lustre Breeds.
Gauge at 4 inches of stocking stitch is 20 sts x 28 rows (with 4mm needles).
