ITO Shimo

NZ$22.00

ITO Shimo blends wool and silk (in an 80 / 20 proportion) into a delicate light fingering weight thread that performs well held as a single strand, paired with ITO Sensai (or any other mohair blend) or held double.

This is woolen spun yarn produced on an old mule spinning system.. It mixes ITO’s recycled silk Kinu fibre with a fine 19.5 micron lambswool. The fibres are mixed before carding, yielding a mélange effect to the final knitted fabric. Shimo is scoured after spinning and will bloom even more with washing.

Each 50g cone contains approx 266 m / 291 yds of yarn. It will suit needle sizes ranging from 3mm to 4mm.
