Garthenor Number 1 laceweight
Garthenor Number 1 laceweight
Number 1 is the lightest member of the Garthenor family. It’s a single ply, woollen spun heavy lace with a slightly rustic nature. This yarn reaches its full potential once it has been wet blocked.
Knit this on some 5mm needles for some open and airy lace work, or switch to 1.5mm for a denser, tighter knit fabric. This laceweight yarn also works perfectly knitted as two strands – either a solid shade or to create your own marl. When knit together, two strands of Number 1 will substitute nicely for a Number 2 yarn.
This is undyed, natural Shetland laceweight wool, certified organic. Each colourway consists of fibre from the following sheep breeds:
Chalk: Shetland, approx 294m / skein
Chalkboard / Natural Black, approx 350m / skein

Moorit: Shetland, approx 300m / skein
