The TN31 is a relaxed and versatile interpretation of a classic fishtail parka. Sew it up with or without a lining and this is a multi-season workhorse. It has side pockets, front welt pockets, a back vent and optional drawstring waist.

You could consider dry oilskin, oilskin (lined version only), tweed, woollens, cotton drill, cotton canvas, waterproofed cottons and linens. Using something like oilskin will ensure it keeps it structural shape, but it could look equally good in something more slinky like a Tencel twill.

For the ribbing neckline, Merchant & Mills suggests using rib that stretches by half again - that means a 10cm piece that stretches to 15cm.

This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including sizes 6 – 18. Seam allowances are 1.5cm and are included in the pattern.
