We have so much admiration for the work of John Arbon Textiles - both in the making of beautiful yarns and in the restoration and maintenance of old mill machinery, ensuring the knowledge and skills can be retained and passed on to future generations. Plus John’s got amazing taste in music!

Why Yarnadelic? ... Every yarn has a song to go with it. We put records on and everyone had to write down the colour it evoked in them, which got more interesting as the night went on.

John Arbon Textiles

John Arbon and his wife, Juliet, are celebrating 20 years of John Arbon Textiles this year. They make a range of wonderful yarns - and tops for spinning - from their North Devon mill, from British sheep breeds (and some a bit further afield) and on vintage equipment that John has rescued and restored.

We’re so happy to bring some of these beauties to New Zealand. There’s Yarnadelic, at a year old the newest offering from the mill. It’s a sport weight / heavy four-ply yarn spun from 100 percent Corriedale in an extremely groovy range of colours named after some of John’s favourite records from his vast collection. And then there’s Devonia DK, a sumptuous, lustrous blend of West Country fibres - Exmoor Blueface, Bluefaced Leicester and Lustre breeds.
